Part 1: Preparation for Homecoming
The presence of Eid always brings sweet memories of our hometown in Kediri City. For many years, the village was a center of warmth for our family living in the city of Gresik. However, long distances and busy daily lives often keep us apart.
However, this year is an exception. The happy news came from mother, who happily told us that we would be returning to the village to celebrate Eid. It felt like a dream for us, especially after more than five years of never going home.
Preparing for this trip was not easy. From securing paternity leave to preparing all travel requirements, we work hard to make everything run smoothly. However, every effort we made was filled with excitement and anticipation for the moments we would experience in the village.
My mind was filled with images of grandma and grandpa's house, small streets in the village, and the warm faces of families we hadn't seen for a long time. Every second of waiting for departure felt like time was passing slowly, because our desire to return to our hometown was getting bigger.
Part 2: Travel Plan
After the decision to return to the village was made, we immediately planned our itinerary carefully. We want to ensure that this trip will be an unforgettable experience for all of us.
First of all, we decided to leave a few days before Eid. This is not only to avoid traffic jams, but also so that we have enough time to enjoy togetherness with family in the village. Apart from that, we also want to explore our favorite places that we haven't visited for a long time.
When planning a trip, we make sure that all the details are taken into consideration. Dad is responsible for arranging leave permits and transportation tickets, while mom is busy preparing all the necessary travel equipment. Meanwhile, my siblings and I started making a list of places we wanted to visit in the village.
Every day, we spend time planning every step of our journey. From the itinerary to the estimated travel time, we didn't miss a thing. Our enthusiasm to return to the village grew stronger every time we made our itinerary.
Part 3: Journey to the Hometown
The day of departure finally arrived. We woke up early in the morning to prepare everything for our journey to the village in Kediri City. We left our house in
Gresik with mixed feelings of enthusiasm and emotion. This trip was not just a vacation, but also a rare opportunity for us to spend time with family in the village. Our minds were filled with images of the warmth of family, the aroma of typical Eid food, and the boisterous sounds of the village welcoming us.
During the trip, we enjoyed the changing scenery from tall buildings and busy highways to the green hills and verdant rice fields of rural East Java. Every kilometer we traveled brought us closer to our beloved village.
As we drew closer to the village, our hearts filled with unbridled happiness and joy. We couldn't wait to get back to grandma and grandpa's house, to the place we had called home.
Part 4: Arrival in the Hometown
As our vehicle approached the village, the darkness of night began to creep in and the stars began to shine in the sky. Fresh air and the smell of wet earth greeted our arrival, creating a familiar and warm atmosphere in our hearts.
As we entered the village, the small lights from people's houses started to light up, indicating that night had fallen in our village. The lights along the village road depict the calm and peaceful life in our beloved place.
We arrived at grandma and grandpa's house with smiles on our faces. They were waiting patiently for us on the front porch, ready to greet us warmly. As soon as we got out of the vehicle, they immediately stepped closer to us and hugged us tightly.
It didn't take long for us to feel the warmth and love of our families in the village. We immediately felt like we were back home after a long time abroad in the big city. The peaceful atmosphere and friendliness typical of the village immediately touched our hearts, reminding us of how much this place means to us.
We sat on the front porch with grandma and grandpa, telling stories about our travels and all the things we had experienced in the city. They listened attentively, smiling happily to see us back.
As the night wore on, we decided to take a break and start our adventure in the village the next day. However, before that, we spent time together under the calm night sky, feeling the togetherness and peace that we can only find in our beloved village.
Part 5: Family Reunion
The next morning, we woke up with a burning desire to explore the village and reunite with our extended family. As soon as we left grandma and grandpa's house, the fresh air and the smell of wet soil immediately greeted us, reminding us of
beautiful memories of childhood in the village.
We walked through the quiet village streets, enjoying the beauty of the surrounding nature still sleeping in the coolness of the morning. The sound of birds singing in the trees and the sound of flowing water in small streams fill the air, creating a very peaceful and calming atmosphere.
It didn't take long for us to arrive at our other family's house. There, we were greeted with warm smiles and tight hugs from our grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives. They had been waiting for our arrival for a long time and were happy to see us back in the village.
We immediately felt like we had gone back in time, where family reunions like this often happened in our village. A cheerful atmosphere immediately filled the air, and we felt so grateful to be able to feel the warmth and togetherness of family in the village.
We spent time with the family, talking about things that had happened in our lives since we last saw each other. Laughter and jokes accompanied every conversation, creating moments full of happiness and closeness between us.
Family reunions in the village are one of the moments we most look forward to every year. It felt like rediscovering a part of ourselves that had long been separated, and we were grateful for the opportunity to reunite with our family in the place we call home.
Part 6: Recreation in the Village
After enjoying precious moments with family in a warm reunion, we decided to explore the natural beauty of the village. We planned to visit our favorite places from childhood that have long been an integral part of our memories.
First of all, we visited a small river located on the edge of the village. This river is a place where we often bathed and played in the water when we were little. The clear and fresh water flows between the river rocks, creating a refreshing atmosphere under the morning sun.
We swam and played in the water happily like before, recalling the beautiful memories of our childhood. Every splash of water brought laughter and joy among us, creating unforgettable moments in our hearts.
Apart from the river, we also explored the vast green fields around the village. We walked through the paths leading to the fields, enjoying the fresh aroma of the wet earth and the stunning green views.
In the fields, we recalled our times running and playing among the greenery, feeling the freedom and joy that we could only find in the village. Every step we take on the farm brings us closer to our roots, reminding us of our strong connection to the land where we were born.
Our adventure in the village gave us the opportunity to experience the peace and natural beauty that can only be found in a place like this. Even though the trip was short, the beautiful memories we experienced will remain etched in our hearts forever.
Part 7: Eid Cuisine Preparation
With every step we took to explore the village, our enthusiasm grew stronger to celebrate Eid with joy and family warmth. After spending a pleasant time in the river and fields, it was time for us to prepare ourselves to welcome this sacred day.
We returned to grandma and grandpa's house in high spirits, ready to help mom and grandma prepare typical Eid dishes. The kitchen space was soon filled with the fragrant aroma of spices and fresh ingredients used to make delicious dishes.
Mother and grandmother worked together enthusiastically, teaching us how to make traditional dishes such as ketupat, opor ayam, rendang, and various kinds of Eid cakes. Even though we don't have much experience in cooking, we learn quickly and try to give our best.
During the cooking process, we not only learned about the traditional art of cooking, but also about family values and togetherness. Every hand movement and every recipe we follow is filled with love and affection, reminding us of the strength that exists in family togetherness.
After several hours, the Eid meal was finally ready to be served. The dining table was filled with a variety of mouth-watering dishes, and we couldn't wait to enjoy the fruits of our labor together.
However, more than just delicious food, this moment is about togetherness and family warmth. When we sit together at the dinner table, we feel the peace and happiness that can only be found between the people we love. Every bite of food brings gratitude for the blessings we have been given, and every laugh and story we share creates unforgettable memories in our hearts.
Part 8: Eid Prayers Together
The long-awaited day, Eid al-Fitr, has finally arrived. The atmosphere in the village became more festive with preparations to carry out Eid prayers together at the village mosque. We dressed ourselves in new clothes with excitement, showing our joy at the arrival of this sacred day.
As we walked towards the mosque, we were greeted by other villagers who were also heading to their place of worship. Clear and blue skies greeted our arrival, adding beauty to this blessed moment.
When we arrived at the mosque, the room was full of people who had come to pray together. A solemn and togetherness filled the air, creating a very sacred atmosphere between us.
We joined the other congregation, occupying the places that had been provided for us. When the imam leads the prayer, our hearts are filled with calm and solemnity, feeling the presence of Allah SWT who is so close among us.
After the prayer was finished, we shook hands and wished each other a happy Eid al-Fitr to our fellow congregation members. The atmosphere of togetherness and happiness was very strong, reminding us of the importance of brotherhood in the Islamic religion.
Returning to grandma and grandpa's house after prayers, we felt full of peace and happiness. Eid al-Fitr is a moment that brings unity and peace to Muslims throughout the world, and we feel blessed to be able to celebrate it among our families in the village.
Part 9: Eating with Family
Arriving at grandma and grandpa's house after performing Eid al-Fitr prayers, we were greeted with warm smiles and the fragrant aroma of delicious dishes that were available on the dining table. An atmosphere full of family warmth immediately welcomed us, creating unforgettable moments on this sacred day.
We sat cross-legged around the dining table, eating delicious food with great pleasure. Every bite of food brings a very familiar taste to our tongues, reminding us of the typical Eid flavors in the village.
As we enjoyed our meal, lively conversation filled the room. Funny stories from the past, stories of life's journeys, and plans for the future became the material for conversation that just flowed between us. Each family member has a unique story they want to share, so the living room is filled with laughter and joy.
Apart from that, we also express our gratitude to God for all the blessings that have been given to us over the past year. Mother inserted a prayer of gratitude between our conversations, reminding us of the importance of being grateful for all the blessings that have been given to us.
After the meal was finished, we didn't immediately move from the dining table. Instead, we chose to continue sitting together, enjoying the precious togetherness and warmth of family. The intimate and loving atmosphere between us makes us want to extend our time together, enjoying every moment we have together.
Part 10: Moments with Family
Conversations that occur at the dinner table also become a means of strengthening family ties. We share stories about our life journeys, the challenges we have faced, and
our dreams for the future. In this togetherness, we support and strengthen each other, reminding us that family is a place where we can always come home.
After we finished eating, we didn't immediately leave the table. We chose to continue sitting together, enjoying precious moments together. Some of us chose to sing traditional songs or joke around, while others shared funny stories or recalled happy memories together.
This moment is refreshing for all family members. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, moments like these are precious times where we can truly feel united and connected to each other.
When we finally got up from the dining table, our hearts were filled with gratitude and happiness. We realize how lucky we are to have such a supportive and loving family, and this moment will always be a beautiful memory that we keep in our memories.
Part 11: Forgiving Each Other
After eating, we all gathered in the living room to forgive ourselves. An atmosphere of sincerity and humility flowed between us as we forgave each other's faults and mistakes.
Nothing strengthens family relationships more than moments like this, where we can cleanse our hearts of the burden of resentment and start over with pure intentions.
Part 12: Adventures in the Village
Over the next few days, we explored our village with gusto. We visited our favorite places from childhood, such as the small river on the edge of the village and the vast green fields.
Every corner of the village holds beautiful memories that make us fascinated and inspired. We feel lucky to be able to return to these places and reminisce about the happy past.
Part 13: Building Relationships
While in the village, we also spent time building relationships with neighbors and other village residents. We visited neighbors' houses and chatted with them about life in the village.
The relationships we have in the village mean a lot to us, because they are a real part of our community. We felt accepted and loved by the people around us, and that made us love our village even more.
Part 14: Stored Memories
Every moment we spent in the village became an unforgettable memory for us. From festive family reunions to outdoor adventures, every second in the village leaves a deep imprint on our hearts.
We took lots of photos and videos while in the village, so we could recall all the beautiful memories we had with our family and friends. These memories will always remain in our hearts as an inseparable part of our identity and history.
Part 15: Return to Gresik
However, like all good things, time in the village must come to an end. With mixed feelings of sadness and happiness, we prepared to return to Gresik.
Farewell to family in the village is never easy. Every hug felt like the last hug, and every word of goodbye was heavy on our hearts. However, we know that we take unforgettable memories and boundless love with us when we leave the village.
We boarded the vehicle with hearts full of gratitude for all the wonderful experiences we had in the village. As we looked back as the vehicle left the village, we were moved by the beauty and peace that radiated from the place.
During the trip back to Gresik, we spent time reflecting on all the wonderful memories we had experienced in the village. Every detail, every smile, every joke is still fresh in our memories, reminding us of the importance of family and our roots in our lives.
When we arrived at our home in Gresik, we were a little taken aback by the hustle and bustle of the big city. However, even though we have returned to our daily routine, our hearts are still filled with peace and warmth from the time we spent with our families in the village.
Eid in the village has become one of the most beautiful memories in our lives. Although goodbyes are always difficult, we know
that the family bonds and beautiful memories we shared will continue to shine brightly in our lives, bringing happiness and inspiration in every step we take forward.
